ETHNOPOLITICAL CONFLICT IN CATALONIA AND ITS IMPACT ON THE DEVELOPMENT OF TOURISM

The purpose. Study of Ethnopolitical Conflict of Catalonia, its influence on the development of tourism in the country.

Methods. During writing, the following research methods were used: analysis, comparative, historical, statistical, generalization, etc.

Results. The essence of ethnopolitical conflicts, causes of their occurrence and types are revealed. The analysis of the current ethnopolitical situation in Catalonia and the main events has been carried out. The phenomenon of ethnopolitical conflict in Catalonia is explored, its role and consequences for tourism development of the region and Spain in general are revealed.

Scientific novelty. Various researchers have already begun the study of the Catalan conflict, but in 2017, the problem of Catalonia's aspiration to separate itself not only did not lose its relevance, but, on the contrary, arose with a new acuteness, which was facilitated by a number of factors and events in October-December of 2017.

Practical significance. It explains the importance of paying attention to the resolution of ethno-political conflicts, especially in Catalonia, in order to be able to prevent or resolve them at an early stage by solving those problems which may in the future lead to aggravation of relations, political and economic problems, including tourism.
