MODERN VIEW ON THE ENERGY PROBLEM OF UKRAINE. THE CRISIS OF NATURAL GAS EXTRACTION AND CONSUMPTION

Goal. The purpose of this study is to assess the role of the crisis of natural gas extraction and consumption in the energy problem of Ukraine.

Method. The methodology of work is based on the analysis of professional literature on energy issues and the development of the gas sector in Ukraine. Analytical, statistical, comparative, historical, systemic and other methods were used.

Results. The main crisis trends and peculiarities of changes in natural gas consumption are characterized by the example of the main indicators of the state of the natural gas market in Ukraine (own gas production, changes in gas consumption by the population and industry of Ukraine, and others).

The scientific novelty of the work consists in a comprehensive assessment of the crisis situation in the energy sector of Ukraineon the basis of its gas sector and current trends in its reform.

Practical significance is determined by the vital role of gas for the development of the country's economy and the needs of the population in terms of its import.
