The goal is to perform environmental and economic assessment of efficiency of measures on streamlining of water protection zones on the example of the rivers of the Zhytomyr MUVG Ukrainian Polissya.
Research methodology is based on determining the overall and comparative assessment of the effectiveness of interventions. The calculations of ecological and economic efficiency measures on the example of the rivers of the Zhytomyr MUVG. Determined the payback period of capital investments in environmental protection.
The results show that the annual economic effect in the result of the streamlining of water protection zones (VZ) is measured as the difference between the value of the annual economic result and the costs incurred for the implementation of measures to protect from contamination. Ecological-economic assessment of efficiency of measures to streamline the VZ was carried out by comparing the magnitude of the expected economic result from costs that provide the method of calculating year General (absolute) economic efficiency costs and the annual (net) economic effects. The indexes of efficiency of the implementation of water and sanitation confirmed the economic feasibility of their implementation. Similar calculations of economic performance can be performed for other river basins in the Ukrainian Polissya.
Scientific novelty lies in determining the overall and comparative assessment of efficiency of actions on the example of the rivers of the Zhytomyr MUVG, as well as in determining the payback period of the investment.
The practical significance of the results is to apply the same calculations of economic indicators for other river basins in the Ukrainian Polissya. Ecological-economic assessment of efficiency of measures to regulate water protection zones of rivers can be applied to other river basins in Volyn, Rivne, Zhytomyr, Kyiv, Chernihiv regions.
Key words: overall assessment of the effectiveness of environmental protection measures, comparative evaluation of the effectiveness of environmental protection measures, the payback period of capital investments.
